  It
all started in
October of 2000 when I traveled on a mission trip with a group of 20
people to South Africa. In preparation for the trip I purchased all new
camera
gear and loaded up with a couple dozen rolls of film. One of
our stops was Zululand where I
captured some of the most incredible
shots. After returning home and developing my pics I quickly realized
how much I loved photography. It
was at that moment in time I knew that this was going to become
something big in my life.  Now
celebrating over 33 years of marriage, Kathy and I have been blessed to
have had a life of
rewarding careers including our Photography business. At first we
really enjoyed
shooting just Weddings but in '06 we built a studio in our home adding
Family Portraits, High School Seniors and mommy n me photos
to our services. We have also done many on-location shoots in downtown
Grand Rapids, the Lake Michigan
Shoreline in Holland and Grand Haven, and points all over
West Michigan. And many of the weddings we did last year included
locations from Mid-Michigan to Troy and Sterling Heights in
the Metro Detroit Area. When it comes to weddings, both Kathy and I shoot the entire event. Our day usually starts hours before the ceremony and continues until late into the evening. For the getting ready shots, Kathy takes care of the girls while I'm busy with the guys. We both continue to shoot all day long, although, for the most part she leaves the key shots and formals up to me. With both of us shooting we always end up with tons of shots. Our style is mainly photojournalism mixed with traditional wedding photography and a splash of fashion fun.  After the wedding night has ended our job is far from over. The very next day we begin process of selection and post processing of the photos in preparation of posting them to your photo gallery for friends and family to see. We also personally do the design and layout your wedding album from your list of selections. Because of the time we invest in each wedding, we'll only shoot a limited number of events each year. |
